The Gunslinger · Private counsel with Zan Perrion
There is a problem. You bring it to me. I see what you cannot. I fix what can be fixed. Then I leave.
One month of my full attention on one situation. Not therapy. Not coaching toward excellence. A specific problem, taken apart and put right.

And when she does — when that woman walks into your life — you know it instantly. The way she moves. The way she looks at you. The electricity when your hands touch.
The way your entire world rearranges itself around her presence.
Which is why, when something goes wrong, even the most capable man can find himself doing the exact opposite of what would restore harmony with her.
And thus begins the late-night analysis, the pacing, the second-guessing, the schemes and plans that you think of and then discard.
Understand what you are actually up against here. It is not her. She is not the problem. The problem is that you are standing in the middle of the room, and nobody can read a room they are standing in the middle of.
Each of these has a different answer, and the wrong answer applied at the wrong moment only makes things worse. That is what most men do next. And that is why you don't guess.
Men who are accustomed to solving their own problems don't need another voice telling them what they already know. They need someone who can see what they cannot.
For more than twenty-five years, men in business and public life have brought me the situations they could not resolve themselves. Among them have been well-known relationship coaches and dating experts — men who advise others for a living, but found themselves unable to see clearly when it was their own situation.
When the situation is too specific, too important, or too close to see clearly, you call someone who can walk into the room, see what is actually happening, and tell you what to do.
For one month, this problem becomes my problem too.
When you have a highly specific problem, you call in a gunslinger, a fixer. He rides in, sees what nobody else can see, solves what can be solved, and rides off into the sunset.
This is not therapy, and it is not coaching toward excellence. It is one situation, taken apart and put right, over thirty days.
I want all of it. Her words, in the order she said them. The timing. What you did next, and what you were feeling when you did it. Most men hand me the summary. I need the details. The summary is where the problem is hiding.
I will tell you what is happening on her side of this, based on twenty-five years of seeing how these things actually unfold. It is rarely what you think it is, and almost never as bad as it seems at three in the morning.
You will get a plan for your situation: what to say, when, and in what order. The larger half of it is usually what to stop doing. Nearly every man in trouble is working hard at something that is actively making it worse.
You have me by message and by call for the month. These things move quickly, and a plan made on Monday often needs adjusting by Thursday evening. Something happens, you bring it to me, and we decide what to do next.
I would rather you understood the principle than followed the instruction. A man with only the instruction is back here in two years with somebody else, asking the same question in a different accent.
At the end of the month, it ends. That is deliberate. You are not acquiring a permanent advisor — you are solving one thing and getting your own judgement back, which is the entire point of calling someone like me.
On the absence of testimonials
Every other page of this kind carries three men in boxes, first names and professions, explaining how their situation was resolved. You will not find them here.
Men come to me with things they have not told their closest friend. Many of them advise other men for a living. If any of what they told me turned up on a page like this one, none of them would have contacted me in the first place.
And neither would you.
What you can verify is public and permanent: twenty-five years of it, a book anyone can buy, several hundred hours of me thinking out loud on video, and a great many people who have been in a room with me. Search my name. It is all there.
The rest stays between us.
This is not a policy of discretion. It is what you are paying for.
I only take a small number of private clients each year. The month is paid in full at the start.
I cannot promise you an outcome, and I will not pretend otherwise. What I can promise is that you will stop guessing.
Nobody can guarantee another person's choices, and any man who tells you he can is selling you something.
What I can tell you is that I will understand the situation. I will tell you what I see. I will tell you what to do. I will be there while it unfolds.
And then you will have your judgement back.
Timing matters. In situations like these a week can change everything, and the right move made today can be very different from the right move made next week.
This work depends on attention, and attention cannot be scaled. That is the whole reason the number stays small.
